Who will teach my child in Tall Trees?
Qualified educators guide each child in Tall Trees at their own pace, with intentional teaching moments woven through the day.
Each week balances structured learning, creative expression and outdoor exploration across our purpose-built indoor and outdoor spaces.
In Western Australia the law requires at least one educator for every ten children from 36 months to preschool age (ACECQA ratio table). Ask on your tour how Tall Trees is staffed.

What will my child learn in Tall Trees?
Curiosity now stretches into big questions: how, why and what if. These Tall Trees programmes turn those questions into real learning.
STEAM Explorers
Magnetic tiles become bridges, colour-mixing turns water into potions and digital microscopes reveal leaf veins. Science, technology, engineering, art and maths come together to build reasoning skills.
Project Circle
Weekly long-term projects let children plan, research and present. Topics spring from their own questions, like volcanoes, recycling or favourite animals, and the results go on display for everyone to celebrate.
Friendship Toolkit
Role-play, emotion cards and collaborative games teach sharing, negotiating and problem-solving. Children learn words for feelings and practise resolving conflicts, the groundwork for friendships at school.

A morning hello from Issy at the gate, and a quick catch-up with Tall Trees educators at drop-off.
Project time
Small groups dig into Project Circle questions and STEAM Explorers challenges, with educators teaching along the way.
Mindful Movers
Short yoga flows and breathing games between play blocks help sharpen focus and body awareness, and give children calm-down tools they can use at kindy and school.
Outdoor exploration
Time in the garden, the sandpit and the timber play fort.
Lunch from our chef
Fresh meals cooked on site, with produce the children pick for our chef.
Rest and quiet time
Rest that follows your child’s routine at home.

Food and garden
What will my child eat? Garden-to-Table Snacks.
Our on-site chef cooks fresh meals every day, and Tall Trees children help grow what goes on the plate.
In Garden-to-Table Snacks, children tend the veggie beds, chart growth in journals and pick produce for our chef. From seed to plate, they connect food with nature and practise numeracy as they weigh, measure and count.

What age is the Tall Trees room for?
Tall Trees is Everwood’s preschool room for children aged 3 to 4. From about four, children move up to Gumnuts, our kindy room for 4 to 5 year olds.
What is the educator to child ratio for 3 to 4 year olds in WA?
The WA minimum for children from 36 months to preschool age is 1:10, one educator for every ten children. Ask on your tour how Tall Trees is staffed.
Is Tall Trees a preschool or childcare?
Tall Trees is both: a preschool programme for 3 to 4 year olds inside Everwood’s long day care, which is open 6:30am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
How does Tall Trees prepare my child for kindy?
Tall Trees builds the early literacy, numeracy and social skills children need for a confident start to kindergarten, through projects, play and intentional teaching.
Does my preschooler still rest during the day?
Yes, the Tall Trees day includes rest and quiet time, and it follows your child’s routine at home, so tell us what works for your family.
How much does preschool cost at Everwood?
Preschool fees depend on how many days you book and on your Child Care Subsidy. Estimate your share with our CCS calculator, then ask us to confirm current fees on your tour. As of 5 January 2026, the 3 Day Guarantee means CCS-eligible families get at least 72 subsidised hours a fortnight for each child (Services Australia).
