Purposeful movement, woven into every Monday
Rolling, crawling, climbing, balancing, jumping — gross motor milestones are how little bodies build big brains. Sensory-motor play strengthens the bottom-up brain circuits that later learning relies on. That's why we have a movement specialist onsite every Monday, free for enrolled families: Brenda works with each room at Everwood, guiding play-based sessions that follow your child's natural, sequential development — at their own pace, never rushed.
Meet Brenda Beckley
Early Childhood Movement & Development Specialist
Brenda is a child development practitioner with more than 15 years of hands-on experience supporting babies, young children and their families. Perth families may also know her as the creator of the Reach baby movement program — the same expertise behind our free Baby REACH community classes.
Her sessions are grounded in evidence-informed developmental principles: play-based activities that build movement, confidence and independence, always recognising that every child develops at their own pace. And because a child's progress and a parent's wellbeing go hand in hand, Brenda shares simple, practical ideas families can use at home.

Supporting every stage, from first rolls to school-ready

Babies (0–12 months) · Building the foundations
Tummy time, rolling, reaching, sitting, crawling. Gentle, sensory-rich floor play strengthens little muscles, supports early reflex integration and lays the neural pathways for every milestone to come.

Toddlers (1–3 years) · Finding their feet
Walking, climbing, balancing and first brave jumps. Safe, playful challenges develop coordination, balance and spatial awareness — and the proud independence of "I did it myself!"

Preschoolers (3–5 years) · Ready for big adventures
Hopping, skipping, ball skills and core strength. Purposeful movement refines the coordination, focus and listening skills that make for confident, school-ready kids.

FAQ
Is it really free?
Yes — it's included for every enrolled Everwood family, every Monday. No booking, no extra cost.
My child isn't crawling or walking yet — will they be left behind?
Never. Brenda matches every activity to your child's stage, not their age. Development isn't a race — it's a sequence.
Is this a therapy service?
No. Sessions are evidence-informed developmental play, designed to complement — not replace — medical or allied health advice. If you have concerns about your child's development, please speak with your GP or child health nurse.
How do I hear about my child's progress?
Ask our educators at pick-up — and Brenda shares easy at-home movement ideas along the way. We also communicate how Brenda assisted your child through our EarlyWorks app
